The two-day event saw participation by over 500 students from grades 1 to 8 and was held on 15th and 16th December 2019, at the sprawling GIIS Whitefield Campus.

The highlight of the event was the variety of exciting and challenging sports activities, where students were given the opportunity to showcase their skills and display sportsmanship. Lively culture and arts performances, including Montessori drill, dance performance and traditional sports day games, added fun and excitement to the festive atmosphere.

The Sports Day began with the Chief Guest of Honour Mr. Amogh Verneker, Chairman, GIIS Whitefield, lighting the torch and the sports mantra being recited by everyone. General Manager Dr. Yogananda H R gave an inspiring opening address with valuable anthems of encouragement. Mr. Devaditya Bajpai, CPO and Ms Anmol Gaba, VP HR, paid their auspicious presence to the event, making it a memorable felicitation.

The day’s excitement included ground activities, track events, and cultural performances. Champions of each activity were awarded, along with several other awards. In the cultural event, Farhan Hussain Students of 9th Grade took home the Title of Best in Rendition.

The day was fun-filled and the crowd was captivated with enthusiasm and cheer. A drawing competition was also successfully organized at the sports meet to inspire creativity amongst the students.

The Annual Sports Day celebrations like “GIIS Infinito” are an important part of GIIS Whitefield’s vision – to bring out the true spirit of leadership among students in order to foster their physical and mental growth.
