5G Services Rolled Out in 329 Cities Across All Licensed Service Areas: MoS Devusinh Chauhan

5G solutions have been rolled out across 329 metropolitan areas spread throughout all accredited provider areas, Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday.

“5G companies have been rolled out in 329 cities distributed across all Licensed Assistance Areas (LSAs),” Chauhan pointed out.

The Centre for Advancement of Telematics (C-DoT) and Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (RJIL) have developed an indigenous 4G/5G technological know-how stack. The Proof of Notion of C-DoT’s 4G technological know-how stack has been properly carried out in the BSNL network.

“RJIL’s stack is currently being extensively deployed in rolling out of its 5G community. These indigenous technology stacks could be exported to other countries in upcoming,” the minister claimed.

BSNL floated a tender on October 2022 for 1 lakh 4G internet sites. The bid was opened on November 23, 2022.

“The evaluation of the bid has been concluded and is less than submission for acceptance of the Group of Ministers (GoM). 4G providers will be started all about India including Maharashtra and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, within 18-24 months following putting the Acquire Get,” Vaishnaw claimed.

Replying to a problem on the merger of BSNL and MTNL, MoS Chauhan mentioned that the Cupboard, though approving the revival bundle for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on July 27, 2022, had authorised development of a Committee of Secretaries (CoS) for in-depth assessment to solve issues of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) together with merger of MTNL with BSNL.

To another question on OTT communications sevices, Chauhan pointed out that the draft Indian Telecommunication Monthly bill, 2022 unveiled for general public session in September, refers to ‘OTT conversation services’ as a style of telecommunication assistance.

“The policy goal is that all varieties of telecommunication, which involve OTT interaction companies, will need to be protected beneath the ambit of regulation. The draft Telecommunication Invoice, will go through even more revision dependent on responses/suggestions obtained for the duration of the community session,” Chauhan said.
