There are millions of fans of Batman all over the globe, and many of them would like to learn how to draw their favourite hero.
This tutorial will demonstrate how to recreate this fantastic hero!
Prepare yourself for this simple 6-step tutorial on how to draw Batman!
Start drawing Batman now to learn how to do it!
1:
- This drawing tutorial will begin with Batman’s skull. Batman dons a recognizable helmet with two elongated ears on top.
- There is a gap in front of his lips and chin and what appear to be blank, white eyes.
- Because this drawing is quite intricate, study the reference picture carefully as you work. To simplify it, you could begin by rough sketching the outline of your skull with a pencil.
- Add some finer features later, like his pointed ears and sombre-looking eyes. Then, add the details for his chin, the lines above his eyes, and his facial features like his mouth and nostrils.
- Draw some lines beneath his jawline to represent the curve of his neck, and then begin his shoulders with more curved lines to complete the drawing.
2:
- Draw his limbs and chest after that.
- We’ll sketch Batman’s chest and begin drawing his limbs for the next section of the drawing. Complete the foundation of his mask, down to his shoulders, first.
- We’ll use some rounded lines to represent his shoulders and more to represent the musculature in his arms.
- Once those are underway, we can turn our attention to his torso. The signature bat symbol will be drawn on his chest after we create some rounded lines to represent this.
- Finally, add a few more rounded lines to represent his waist, and we’re set to move on to step 3!
3:
- At this point, complete his limbs, waist, and belt.
- For this section of our how to draw Batman tutorial, we will focus on a few things. We’ll start by drawing the remainder of his arms.
- Three spiky protrusions from his gloves, which nearly reach his forearms, can be seen. His chest and waist muscles will be depicted using several smaller, curved lines.
- We will also depict Batman’s utility belt, which is well known for being filled with tools.
- Draw a few tiny pouches joined to a few horizontal straight lines to create his belt. Step 4 is now necessary.
4:
- After that, begin sketching his cape and thighs.
- We will now begin to draw Batman’s cape since he wouldn’t appear as cool without it. Draw a curved line from the left limb, slightly downward and outward.
- The underside of this cape will also have some sharp curves. The tops of his thighs and his hips will be depicted later using more curved and rounded lines.
- We can proceed once it resembles the reference picture, so do that now!
5:
- Complete your Batman sketch.
- We will add more details to Batman’s cape and complete his legs to complete the sketching instructions for Batman.
- To make his cape appear more flowing, draw another long, curved shape on the right side with sharp points at the end.
- We’ll finish off his legs after that. His boots, which stretch to just below his knees, will be drawn. When his footwear looks exactly like they do in the picture, you’re ready to add some colour!
- This is your opportunity to add any last specifics and unique components before you do. Maybe you could depict him standing atop a tall structure in Gotham City?
- You could also include some extra figures, like his companion Robin or perhaps even one of his adversaries, like the Joker. What else comes to mind to complete this Batman illustration?
6:
- Add colour to the sketch of Batman to complete it.
- To complete it, we’ll add colour to your Batman sketch in this last section. Given that Batman has worn a variety of suits over the years, there are several strategies you could employ.
- In our reference picture, we chose his more contemporary appearance, which includes him wearing darker shades of grey and black with a yellow belt.
- You could adopt this style but also use one of his other colour schemes, like when blue and grey were his primary choices.
- After deciding which Batman period you want to depict, you can choose the art supplies and techniques to complete the piece. For a few suggestions, you could experiment with different paint colours or use coloured pens, pencils, or crayons.
