A comprehensive scholarship for one university student just about every year to go after an MSc in Brewing and Distilling at Heriot Wat University in the United Kingdom

In memory of their late distiller, Nao Spirits and Drinks, India’s Craft Gin Distillers, in affiliation with the Gin Guild, have introduced the Jay Dhawan Scholarship. The distillery shall be sponsoring one university student each calendar year from India, with a choice for applicants from the F&B business, to pursue an MSc in Brewing and Distilling from Heriot Watt College in the United Kingdom.

This scholarship was designed to celebrate the memory of Nao Spirit’s late distiller, Jay Dhawan. Jay had himself commenced his profession behind the bar at 1 of Mumbai’s establishments – Bombay Canteen. Wanting to go after a diverse route however, he jumped at the chance to be a part of Nao Spirits and get experienced to be a distiller under Dr Anne Brock who later on went on to develop into Grasp Distiller for Bombay Sapphire.

The Gin Guild, the global human body of Gin distillers and associates, has stepped up to guidance this scholarship by contributing 10 per cent of the full sum.
