Resource hyperlink IIT Guwahati recently hosted an industry conclave that saw participation from around 100 industries across India. The conclave was held over 2 days – 20th and 21st February 2020 – and saw 400 delegates from various industries interacting with each other to discuss various domains in the technology sector. The conclave was attended by representatives of both start-ups and well-established companies.
The conclave had various panel discussions and technical presentations on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), Polymer Technologies, Automotive Technologies, Nuclear Technologies, and many other emerging technologies. The objective of the conclave was to provide the participating industries an opportunity to explore avenues for partnering with IIT Guwahati for mutual benefit. Specifically, it aimed to connect the students with industry for internships, research collaborations and placements.
During the concluding session, Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Director of IIT Guwahati, pointed out the importance of industry collaboration and the presence of a pool of technologically talented students at IIT Guwahati. He additionally highlighted the commitment of the Governance to provide R&D funding for industries that wished to collaborate with IIT Guwahati.
The conclave concluded with a large number of participants expressing interest in partnering with IIT Guwahati. The institute also received numerous applications from companies interested in internships, placements and research collaborations. The conclave was a huge success and was well-received by the attendees. It is hoped that these interactions will be fruitful for both IIT and industries in the coming future, and will help bring innovation and development in the technology sector.
