I think I’m a great example of ‘What are the odds?’

Resource website link I frequently hear the phrase, “What are the odds?” and have always felt it applies to me rather well. Growing up in a very small town, I didn’t have many options when it came to pursuing my dreams. Yet despite the many obstacles and challenges that I faced, I was able to find success, and I take great pride in this achievement. Thus, I’m a great example of “what are the odds.”

From a young age, I knew I wanted to be a nurse. Unfortunately, I had limited resources available to me in my small town, so I was unable to take the classes I needed to pursue the career I wanted. I had to get creative if I wanted to reach my goals, and so I worked hard to save up enough money for a semester at a larger university, where I was able to take the courses I needed to get started on the path to become a nurse. I also had to work full-time while completing my studies, but I was determined to make it work.

The hard work and dedication to my goal paid off, and I graduated from nursing school with honors. I was then accepted into one of the top nursing programs in the state. This would have been nearly impossible if I hadn’t taken the initiative to get the education I needed. I’m now well on my way to becoming a nurse and am so proud to be an example of “what are the odds.”

I’m also aware of how much privilege helped to get me to where I am today. I was fortunate enough to have access to an education and the support of my family and friends to help me get there. That’s why I’ve been working to pay it forward by helping others in my community who have faced similar challenges.

My experience is just one example of “what are the odds?” There are countless people who have achieved success despite the many obstacles they’ve faced. I hope my story will inspire others to work hard and follow their dreams, no matter how impossible they may seem. Everyone should be encouraged to reach for the stars, and to never give up on the path to success.
