AWS Well-Architected Framework

1 min read

The AWS Well-Architected Framework is a set of best practices and design principles for building secure, reliable, and efficient systems in the cloud. It provides a common language and a systematic approach for evaluating architectures, and helps organizations design and operate systems that are scalable, resilient, and cost-effective.

The AWS Well-Architected Framework consists of five pillars:

Operational Excellence: This pillar focuses on the ability to run and monitor systems to deliver business value and continuously improve supporting processes and procedures.

Security: This pillar focuses on protecting information, systems, and assets while delivering business value through risk assessments and mitigation strategies.

Reliability: This pillar focuses on the ability of a system to recover from failures and disruptions, and to successfully execute its intended function.

Performance Efficiency: This pillar focuses on the use of resources in the most efficient way possible, while still meeting the required performance needs.

Cost Optimization: This pillar focuses on reducing costs while still meeting the performance and functionality requirements of the system.

By following the principles and best practices outlined in the AWS Well-Architected Framework, organizations can build systems that are scalable, resilient, and cost-effective, and that deliver high levels of availability and performance.
