5G Services Rolled Out in 329 Cities Across All Licensed Service Areas: MoS Devusinh Chauhan

5G solutions have been rolled out across 329 cities spread across all accredited assistance areas, Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday.

The Heart for Growth of Telematics (C-DoT) and Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (RJIL) have designed an indigenous 4G/5G technology stack. The Proof of Concept of C-DoT’s 4G technologies stack has been effectively carried out in the BSNL network.

“RJIL’s stack is currently being extensively deployed in rolling out of its 5G community. These indigenous technological innovation stacks may be exported to other countries in long term,” the minister explained.

Meanwhile, to one more issue, Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said BSNL’s 5G solutions would be furnished immediately after rollout of 4G products and services all above India.

BSNL floated a tender on October 2022 for 1 lakh 4G web-sites. The bid was opened on November 23, 2022.

“The analysis of the bid has been concluded and is under submission for acceptance of the Group of Ministers (GoM). 4G services will be begun all in excess of India together with Maharashtra and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, within just 18-24 months immediately after putting the Invest in Purchase,” Vaishnaw reported.

Replying to a problem on the merger of BSNL and MTNL, MoS Chauhan mentioned that the Cupboard, whilst approving the revival deal for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Minimal (BSNL) on July 27, 2022, had accredited formation of a Committee of Secretaries (CoS) for detailed assessment to resolve issues of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Minimal (MTNL) like merger of MTNL with BSNL.

To a different dilemma on OTT communications sevices, Chauhan talked about that the draft Indian Telecommunication Bill, 2022 introduced for community session in September, refers to ‘OTT communication services’ as a form of telecommunication services.

“The policy objective is that all kinds of telecommunication, which consist of OTT interaction services, need to be lined beneath the ambit of legislation. The draft Telecommunication Monthly bill, will bear more revision primarily based on responses/tips obtained throughout the general public session,” Chauhan said.
