5G Services Rolled Out in 329 Cities Across All Licensed Service Areas: MoS Devusinh Chauhan

5G solutions have been rolled out throughout 329 towns spread across all certified service regions, Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday.

The Heart for Growth of Telematics (C-DoT) and Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (RJIL) have formulated an indigenous 4G/5G technological innovation stack. The Evidence of Principle of C-DoT’s 4G know-how stack has been efficiently carried out in the BSNL community.

“RJIL’s stack is currently being extensively deployed in rolling out of its 5G network. These indigenous technological innovation stacks may be exported to other nations around the world in future,” the minister claimed.

Meanwhile, to one more concern, Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated BSNL’s 5G companies would be supplied after rollout of 4G solutions all in excess of India.

BSNL floated a tender on Oct 2022 for 1 lakh 4G web-sites. The bid was opened on November 23, 2022.

“The analysis of the bid has been concluded and is below submission for approval of the Group of Ministers (GoM). 4G companies will be commenced all above India such as Maharashtra and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, inside of 18-24 months right after positioning the Order Order,” Vaishnaw claimed.

Replying to a dilemma on the merger of BSNL and MTNL, MoS Chauhan mentioned that the Cupboard, whilst approving the revival package deal for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Restricted (BSNL) on July 27, 2022, experienced authorised formation of a Committee of Secretaries (CoS) for in-depth evaluation to take care of issues of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Confined (MTNL) such as merger of MTNL with BSNL.

To a further question on OTT communications sevices, Chauhan mentioned that the draft Indian Telecommunication Monthly bill, 2022 released for general public session in September, refers to ‘OTT communication services’ as a variety of telecommunication service.
