5G Services Rolled Out in 329 Cities Across All Licensed Service Areas: MoS Devusinh Chauhan

5G services have been rolled out throughout 329 cities unfold across all certified assistance areas, Lok Sabha was knowledgeable on Wednesday.

The Middle for Enhancement of Telematics (C-DoT) and Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (RJIL) have designed an indigenous 4G/5G technologies stack. The Evidence of Strategy of C-DoT’s 4G technological know-how stack has been correctly carried out in the BSNL community.

“RJIL’s stack is remaining extensively deployed in rolling out of its 5G network. These indigenous engineering stacks may well be exported to other countries in long term,” the minister stated.

Meanwhile, to one more concern, Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated BSNL’s 5G providers would be furnished just after rollout of 4G services all around India.

BSNL floated a tender on Oct 2022 for 1 lakh 4G web-sites. The bid was opened on November 23, 2022.

“The evaluation of the bid has been concluded and is under submission for acceptance of the Team of Ministers (GoM). 4G services will be started all above India which include Maharashtra and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, in 18-24 months immediately after positioning the Invest in Get,” Vaishnaw stated.

Replying to a dilemma on the merger of BSNL and MTNL, MoS Chauhan said that the Cupboard, whilst approving the revival deal for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on July 27, 2022, experienced accepted formation of a Committee of Secretaries (CoS) for comprehensive examination to resolve issues of Mahanagar Phone Nigam Constrained (MTNL) which includes merger of MTNL with BSNL.

To an additional problem on OTT communications sevices, Chauhan mentioned that the draft Indian Telecommunication Invoice, 2022 introduced for general public consultation in September, refers to ‘OTT interaction services’ as a sort of telecommunication provider.
