The objective of the programme is to identify, enable, and transform 100 aspirational districts in India through technology. Identification of these ‘aspirational’ districts is based on the Socio Economic and Caste Census, National Family Health Survey and other relevant data. Electoral, demographic, geographic, and development characteristics are taken into consideration and the areas are indexed on the basis of their development level. Selected districts will be evaluated based on the level and quality of access to basic services.
