Indian Institute of Technologies Madras (IIT Madras) is heading to host 50 pupils and youth from Tripura less than ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ North East Yuva Sangam campaign. The students will be hosted by IIT Madras from 4 to 9 March 2023.
IIT Madras and Nationwide Institute of Technological know-how (NIT) Agartala have been determined as nodal institutes to host visits by a respective staff of 50 college students and youth from Tripura to Tamil Nadu and vice versa for a time period of 5 to 6 days underneath this marketing campaign.
The marketing campaign is crafted close to the idea of pairing various States and Union Territories with the northeast states. This pairing will help youth from diverse pieces of the region to interact with every other and find out about their customs, traditions, lifestyles and technological developments.
This take a look at to Tamil Nadu would be an enriching practical experience for the visiting learners from Tripura. Similarly, 50 pupils and youth from Tamil Nadu will take a look at Tripura from 13 March 2023 for five times.

Resource link IIT Madras has announced a collaboration with Tripura-based NE Yuva Sangam to bring students of the state to its campus, for a unique learning experience. Under this initiative, 100 students of the state’s Brighter tutors club will get to visit IIT Madras and be exposed to the world-class infrastructure and teaching methods of the prestigious institution.
The initiative, reportedly ‘NE Yuva Sangam’, was launched by the Government of India. It aims to develop a platform to provide knowledge enhancement opportunities to students living in the northeastern states, and to help them step up in the higher levels of education. In this regard, IIT Madras has accepted the invitation of NE Yuva Sangam.
The students will be taken on an educational tour to the campus and given a guided tour, helping them understand the infrastructure and operations of the institute. The tour will provide an insight into the working of the institution and motivate them to pursue higher education. The participating students would also be given an opportunity to learn from the faculty members of departments such as Ocean Engineering, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and Mechanics.
Commenting on the collaboration, institute Director Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi said, “We look forward to hosting the students of NE Yuva Sangam. This is an excellent opportunity for them to get an insight into different disciplines of engineering and science, thereby enabling them to make informed career choices. IIT Madras is committed to extending its knowledge and resources to students across the country, for their betterment.”
Through this collaboration, IIT Madras hopes to inspire the students from Tripura and provide them with the necessary knowledge to become effective engineers and scientists. This move by IIT Madras is praiseworthy, as it will go a long way in helping students from the North Eastern states attain better education.
