Supply backlink The Honda Battle of the Bands is back and better than ever with six historically black college and university (HBCU) marching bands set to compete in an electrifying musical battle. The competition, which is now in its 18th year, will take place this weekend in Atlanta and will feature bands from Alabama A&M University, Bethune-Cookman University, Tennessee State University, Texas Southern University, Virginia State University and Winston-Salem State University.
The Honda Battle of the Bands will give the six bands the opportunity to showcase their musical skills and expertise in a competitive atmosphere. It also provides a platform to further their visibility and to educate and inspire music fans from around the world. The performance from each band at this weekend’s battle will be judged by the Honda Battle of the Bands Judges’ Panel, which includes members of the entertainment, music and tourism industries, as well as local community leaders.
The winning band will be rewarded with a grand prize package that features $50,000 in cash and a scholarship from the Honda International Education Fund. This scholarship will enable the participating HBCU to further enrich its respective music program through resources and support.
The Honda Battle of the Bands has long played an integral role in the exposure and growth of HBCU bands. The organization has been recognized by the United Negro College Fund and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund for its ongoing commitment to the development of higher education and music scholarship opportunities.
